All SiCortex software is available in fully-supported binary distributions with regular updates. However, if you want to take a look under the hood, feel free. Our Gentoo portage tree points you to all of the source code in the system, both community-developed and SiCortex-specific.
If issues occur, there's one number to call (or email to send) for help with any aspect of the system software, whether it's the kernel, device drivers, development tools, or application libraries. No need to bounce from your node vendor to your interconnect vendor to your software support vendor to get your problem addressed.
SiCortex systems are equally friendly to licensed third party software. The Qlogic PathScale compiler suite comes bundled with the system. The compilers and system software are fully integrated with the TotalView debugger, which is available from Etnus. Watch this space for new tools and applications as the list continues to grow.
